A release date of May 30th has been set for the Mark Bates new CD, "Wish I Was There". The new CD can be pre-order at BigFrankRecords.com for only $9.99. Until May 30th 25% of all pre-order sales will be donated to CancerCare Dorset in the name of Nick Vercoe, a very close friend of Mark who recently passed. So now's chance to get the new Mark Bates CD and help a worthy cause all at the same time!

May 28th, Mark Bates will be playing a very special show at Harper's Ferry in Alston, MA. The show will also double as a CD Release Party for his new CD, "Wish I Was There". Check out the gigs section on MarkBates.com for information on the show. More information will be forthcoming.

The brand new, completely redesigned, MarkBates.com is now up and running!!
The site has been redesigned by the great Charles Crawford. Charles, as you loyal listeners out there will remember, designed the CatapultTheBand.com website, as well as the BigFrankRecords.com website. Charles is an outstanding designer, and we're glad to have had him do the site redesign.
The site is also now sitting on top of a new CMS (Content Management System) called Krikkit. Krikkit will make it easier to add new content, great new features, and will generally make everything a lot nicer.

Two free digitally remastered Catapult tracks are now available! Super Me and Infection, both from the album 42, have been digitally remastered and are available as free downloads in the Music section of their site.

Mark Bates will be playing a special pre-Christmas show at the
Paradise Lounge on Commonwealth Avenue in Boston. This show is Mark's first
live performance since Catapult's last show on April 22nd at Nectar's in Vermont.
Mark will be playing with former Catapult band-mate, Karl Haas, on drums and ex-Scamper bassist, Marc Roderick on bass.
The set will include a few Catapult favorites, a few tracks of Mark's 2002 release, Cheaper Than Disappointment, and some new tracks Mark has been working on in the studio for the past few months.

After a year using Peppercoin to help deliver low-cost music downloads for Big Frank Records artists, Big Frank Records has decided to terminate the relationship. Currently talks are underway with the Boston-based service Digizaar to deliver these services in early 2005.

After almost a year as Vice President of Artist Management Joshua Schuler will be leaving Big Frank Records to pursue other interests. Everyone at Big Frank Records would like to thank Joshua for all his hard work and wish him well in his future endeavors.

Tonight's show at Nectar's in Burlington, VT will mark the end of an era for Catapult. Erick Ellison, founding Catapult member and bassist, has decided to move to Tennessee in order to provide a better life for his wife, Kathleen, and child, Kevin. Everyone at Big Frank Records and Catapult wishes Erick and Kathleen all the best, the both will be missed.
Remaining Catapult members, Mark Bates and Karl Haas, are still optimistic about their future. "It's really sad, we love Erick, and it's really upsetting to see him go," says Mark Bates. "I would like to think that we'll continue Catapult, but without Erick, I don't think that's possible. I do believe that Karl and I will keep working together though."

Big Frank Records has acquired the back catalogue of the 90's indie band, Hindu Ringo, from Huh!?! Records. The catalogue includes the band's two albums, "Hindu Ringo" and "Such An Englishman", as well as the band's unreleased album, "Crackpipes and Fishermen". There are currently no plans to release any of the albums in the near future.

Brand new t-shirts are now available online! The new shirts come in two types; softball - grey with 3/4 length blue sleeves, and girlie - light blue with short blue sleeves. At 12.16 this morning Erick and Kathleen were blessed with a happy, healthy baby boy, Kevin James Ellison. Kevin weighed in at a respectable 8lbs 4 ounces and is 22 inches. Kevin also holds the honor for being the first baby born in the city of Salem in 2004. Mother, baby, and Father are all doing just fine. We wish Erick, Kathleen, and Kevin all the best! Catapult, along with UK band Stoner, will be kicking off a tour of the United Kingdom starting November 24th at Pop in London's swing Soho district. The tour will hit four cities, playing five shows, in six days. Details of the trip can be found online at http://uk03.catapulttheband.com.

Catapult is sad to announce that keyboardist Nick D'Amico will no longer be a member of the band. According to band sources the split was amicable between the members of the band and Nick. Catapult front man, Mark Bates, had this to say, "I feel like a cliché saying Nick's departure was due to creative differences, but it was. Nick is a good person, but unfortunately it just didn't work out. It was really difficult." At this moment the band does not have plans to replace Nick.

Big Frank Records is pleased to announce the hiring of Joshua Schuler as the new Vice President of Artist Management. Josh's job will be to deal directly with Big Frank Records artists and their career development needs. Josh's first order of business is to take over management of the Big Frank Records artist, Catapult. This will effectively end their previously relationship with the Jet Music Group.

Big Frank Records has completely revamped it's website. This new website will not only be quicker and more stable, but also easier to update. These changes are part of Big Frank Records bold new direction in the music industry.
